Online counselling & psychotherapy (UK) - positive mental health and wellbeing

Azure Dragonfly offers a 6-session positive parenting programme.
A step-by-step guide and 1:1 sessions provide information, resources, and advice for anyone wanting to know more about this approach to parenting young children. Positive parenting supports mental health wellbeing and development.
In this session we look at the hierarchy of needs, attachment, developmental stages and 'good enough' parenting.
This session focuses on the value of play and the importance of empathy and attention.
Children feel safe when they have clear guidelines that make sense to them. This session looks at how we develop family rules, communicate about limits, and maintain boundaries.
Here the focus is on positive communication, supporting children to regulate difficult emotions, as well as looking at the importance of praise, value, and avoiding the blame game.
It can be challenging when parents have different styles, and this can be confusing for the children trying to negotiate between different rules and boundaries. We look at some different parenting styles and explore the importance of consistency in parenting.
In this session we look at the concept of problem solving and consider how positive parenting approaches discipline and applying consequences. There is an opportunity to reflect on how you were parenting and think about any influence this may have had on your own styles and approach.
Finally, we look at changes as your child gets older. We think about additional factors that influence behaviour, and consider how the parent's role changes over time.
