Neuro-affirming online counselling therapy (UK)

In addition to being a qualified counsellor and psychologist, I also have accreditation (level 2) from the Association of Psychological Therapy (APT) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Depression.
CBT for depression is for anyone who experiences depressed mood regularly (as part of a cycle), or chronically (feels low all the time).

Initially you will be offered a free consultation where we can discuss your concerns and decide whether CBT for depression is the right therapy for you at this time.

Your first paid session (Session 1) will be a full assessment. This allows me to find out more about you and the issues that are affecting you, and it gives you the opportunity to explain your experiences in more detail.
You will also be asked to complete a client questionnaire. This helps us to scale and monitor your progress.

Following the assessment, I will put together some suggestions about appropriate interventions, and in Session 2 we can discuss them and start to make a plan together.
The plan can include different aspects of your life - such as behaviours, thoughts, surroundings, relationships, and biological factors - together with any interventions that may be relevant to you and your experiences.

Each weekly session (Sessions 2 to 7) will involve a review of the past week, provide helpful information, include opportunities to discuss your experiences, explore interventions, and offer resources and appropriate things to practice between sessions.
You will be encouraged to keep a 'mood analysis diary' during our work together.

Our final session (Session 8) allows us to review our work together and to assess the progress of your aims as set out in our plan from Session 2.
It also gives us an opportunity to consider the future and how you can best sustain the changes you have made during sessions.
